Named in honor of Vera Petrovna Tarashchuk, an astrophysicist at the Astronomical Observatory of Kiev University. An active observer of major planets, minor planets and comets, she is known for her contribution to photometric and spectroscopic research on minor bodies. She also studied the association of cometary processes with solar activity, as well as the structure and rotation of minor planets. (M 30095) _ _.
