Named in memory of Ferdinando Caliumi (1915–1993), well-known Italian amateur astronomer, generous constructor and restorer of astronomical telescopes. He was a great friend to the amateur astronomers at the discovery site, and he was also a member of both the Italian Astronomical Society and of the Unione Astrofili Italiani. (M 22829) _ _.
