Stuart Mufson (b. 1946), on the faculty of Indiana University, has built pioneering instrumentation for investigations in high-energy astrophysics, including cosmic-ray physics and the search for dark matter. He has also contributed to the understanding of the interstellar medium and of regions of star formation.
