Named in honor of Katherine Carson Gordon Kron (1917– ) on the occasion of her 80th birthday, 1997 May 24. Kron devoted much of her professional life to observational astronomy at the Lick Observatory. During the second world war she served as a physicist for the U.S. Navy and for much of the 1960s was editor of the Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. (M 30098) _ _.
