Named in memory of Domenico Modugno (1928–1994), famous Italian singer, composer and actor. Modugno won the famous festival of Italian song at San Remo three times; in 1958 with “Nel blu dip into di blu” (also known as “Volare”), in 1959 with “Piove” and in 1966 with “Dio, come ti amo!”.
