Named in honor of Hiroshi Yokota (1927– ), Japanese amateur astronomer. For almost half a century he has delivered lectures on astronomy and has guided many able amateur astronomers. He organized several national astronomical gatherings in Yamaguchi, and he also played an important role in the investigation of a previously-unknown type of meteorite. (M 30799) _ _.
