Named for the French impressionist Paul Cézanne (1839–1906). Cézanne was self-taught and influenced by the baroque and romantic styles. Later he came in contact with Pissarro and became an impressionist. At the end of his life he was the forerunner of expressionism, cubism and fauvism. (M 26932) _ _.
