Named in memory of Giuseppe Armellini (1887–1958), professor of astronomy at the University of Rome and director of the astronomical observatory there. Principally interested in celestial mechanics and classical astronomy and astrophysics, he observed and measured positions of double stars and minor planets. He is also known for his textbooks Trattato di Astronomia Siderale, I Fondamenti Scientifici dell Astronomia and I Fondamenti Scientifici dellástrofisica. (M 27332) _ _.
