In 1892 Kirstine Bjerrum Meyer (1861-1941) became the first woman in Denmark to obtain a degree in physics. In 1899 she obtained the Gold Medal of the Royal Danish Academy of Science for a paper examining whether there exists a general equation of state for all fluid bodies. In 1902 she founded Fysisk Tidsskrift.
