Chinese-born American physicist Daniel Chee Tsui (b. 1939), a graduate of Pui Ching Middle School in Hong Kong, is renowned for his research on the electrical properties of thin films and on the microstructures of semiconductors and solid-state physics. In 1998 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.
