Vitaly Lazarevich Ginzburg (b. 1916), winner of the Nobel Prize for physics in 2003, is an outstanding specialist in theoretical physics. His main achievements are in the theory of particles with spin 3/2 and in the quantum theory of Čerenkov radiation.
