Akira Mizuno (b. 1960), professor at Nagoya University, is a radio astronomer specializing in star formation in molecular clouds and in receiver development. He played a major role in establishing the NANTEN Radio Observatory in Chile and made a significant contribution in the survey of molecular clouds.
