Edwin H. Colbert (b. 1905) is a distinguished U.S. vertebrate paleontologist who has made major contributions to our knowledge of dinosaur evolution and the earth's geological history, notably by proving the continental connection of Antarctica and southern Africa in Lower Triassic times. The name was suggested by K. Kron.
