Claudio Anguita (1930-2000), an astrometrist at the Universidad de Chile, was critically helpful during the establishment of the Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory, forging links between AURA and the Universidad de Chile. He was an IAU Vice President during 1994-2000. The name was suggested by F. Vilas.
