Francesco Maria Veracini (1690–1768), born in Florence, studied violin with his uncle, Antonio Veracini, and with Casini and Feroci of Florence cathedral. His exuberant compositions and virtuosity caused the young Tartini to isolate himself to practice. The Sonate Accademiche (1711) show remarkable energy and brilliance. (M 42671) _ _.
