Karel A. van der Hucht (b. 1946) is an astronomer at the space research center in Utrecht. An authority on Wolf-Rayet stars, he compiled the Catalogue of Galactic Wolf-Rayet Stars. He was appointed assistant general secretary of the IAU in 2003.
