Nikolaus Ludwig Graf von Zinzendorf (1700–1760) was counsellor at the court of his native town of Dresden (1721–1727). He settled Bohemian exiles at his Saxonian estate and founded the “Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine” there. He is known for his pedagogic work and hymns, and he stood for tolerance and missionary work.
