Keith Hege (b. 1932), of Steward Observatory, University of Arizona, is an expert in high angular resolution astronomy and instrumentation. His image reconstruction of (433) Eros from speckle interferometric measurements made in 1981 was vindicated by the NEAR mission in 2000.
