Mamoru Urabe (b. 1960), a teacher of junior high school and an amateur astronomer, is a volunteer senior researcher at the Kamogawa Observatory in Chiba prefecture and has a private observatory in his home. His astronomical interests include comets, nebulae, star clusters and occultations by minor planets.
