Montecorvino Rovella is a small Italian town east of Salerno, Campania. Regionally known as the “town of astronomy”, it boasts an important amateur astronomical observatory named in honor of Montecorvino's citizen Gian Camillo Gloriosi (1572-1643). The citation is endorsed by A. W. Harris and V. Zappalà.
