German author Hans Fallada (Rudolph Ditzen, 1893-1947) wrote sociocritical novels. He described the milieu of the so-called “little people”, their helplessness and valor. His most famous novels are Kleiner Mann-was nun, Wer einmal aus dem Blechnapf frit and Der eieserne Gustav.
