The name of this village in northeastern Switzerland, first mentioned in a document in the year 804 as “Wisuntwangas”, goes back to the “wisent”, or European Bison. Today, political self-sufficiency and high residential standards distinguish the municipality, in which the discoverer and his family have lived for more than 20 years.
