M1 is a group of Spanish amateur astronomers, founded in 1990 by Diego Rodríguez, Francisco Pujol and José Ripero. Their goal is the study of supernovae and cataclysmic variables in collaboration with professional observatories internationally. In 1993 M1 member Francisco García discovered supernova 1993J in M81.
