The Bavarian city of Passau is at the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz. Originally a Celtic settlement, and later a Roman camp, it was civilized by St. Boniface in 739 and made a city in 1225. St. Stephan's Cathedral houses the largest church organ in the world (17 774 pipes, 233 stops and 4 consoles).
