Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton (1774-1821) was an educator, spiritual leader and saint. She was the foundress of the first Catholic school and Sisters of Charity in the U.S.A. Pope John XXIII beatified her in 1963 and Pope Paul VI canonized her in 1975.
