German astronomer and geodesist Wolfgang R. Dick (b. 1959) works at the Frankfurt IERS Central Bureau. Editor of many books, he is known for his research in the history of astronomy. Dick serves in the corresponding commissions of the IAU and the AG. The name was suggested by the first discoverer.
