Takasago, a port city at the mouth of the Kakogawa River, Hyogo prefecture, prospered during the Edo period and even today shows the traces of its prosperous past. Takasago is known as “the bridal city” and is synonymous with wedding celebrations, owing to a Noh play of the same name.
