Bohumil Polesný (1905–1976) served as the director of the Ceské Budějovice {see planet  (11134)} Observatory from 1955 to 1966. His main astronomical work involved the popularization of astronomy. He started the construction of the Kleť Observatory in 1957. (M 43195) _ _.
