Richard Gaster (b. 1984), with Drew Hall, won the 2009 Student Humanitarian Supreme Prize of the IEEE “Change the World” competition. Their “Nanolab” project applies engineering and leadership skills to benefit humanity by solving the problem of limited availability of medical laboratories in third-world countries.
