Wittenberg, situated in Saxony-Anhalt, was the centre of the Reformation. Its five-hundredth anniversary will be celebrated in 2017. Martin Luther, Philipp Melanchton and Lukas Cranach all worked in the town. Luther's Ninety-Five Theses were posted there.
