Pietro Baruffetti (b. 1954), musician and amateur astronomer, is chairman of the Gruppo Astrofili Massesi. His initial interest was variable stars, but recently he has popularized the observation of asteroidal occultations in Italy, having observed many himself. He composed a piano suite entitled “Il Sistema Solare” (1982).
