At a recent Uccle “Open Door Day” the observatory received a visit from Eva Palisa (b. 1942), great-grand-niece of Johann Palisa, the leading visual discoverer of minor planets. Widely traveled, she has been a trilingual secretary in Europe and an “amateur all-round naturalist”. She spent 15 years in the West African bush.
