Named in honor of Shoji Ohsaki (1912– ) on the occasion of the publication of his life work of historical research on the Chinese constellations. An amateur astronomer and historian, Ohsaki is well known for his work on the astronomical histories of the far-eastern countries and as a collaborator in S. Kanda’s {see planet  (2248)} 1935 publication of astronomical phenomena in Japanese historical records before the year 1600. (M 12973) _ _.
