Lusigny (sur Barse) is a small French village near the Lac d'Orient in Aube. It was the first stop of the discoverer on his way to Haute Provence Observatory. To keep the glass plates cool for the rest of the journey, they were stacked between ice cubes, provided by the Lusigny Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers from their freezer.
