Named after an inhabitant of Siberian Taiga and the character from the novel of the same name by the Russian writer Vladimir K. Arsenev. Dersu-Uzala was a member of the Goldy tribe and he became a friend of Arsenev’s during 1902–1910. (M 21609) _ _.
