Sesostris was the name of three pharaohs of the old Egyptian kingdom (twelfth dynasty). They reigned about 1900 B.C. During Sesostris I (1971–1926 B.C.) Egyptian architecture had one of its high points, with buildings in Karnak and Heliopolis. (M 18142) _ _.
