John Peter Huchra (1948-2010), Doyle professor of cosmology at Harvard and some time associate director for optical and infrared astronomy at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, was renowned for his work on the distribution of matter in the universe, including in particular the “Great Wall” of galaxies.
