Named in honor of Valerij Yuzefovich Terebizh (1941– ), theoretical astrophysicist and observer at the Crimean station of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute. He found formal solutions to some important nonstationary and nonlinear problems of radiative transfer and time-series analysis.
