Anna Enquist (b. 1945) is a Dutch author and poet, who studied psycho-analysis at Leiden and piano at the conservatory of Den Haag. Her first novel The Masterpiece (1994), based on Mozart's Don Giovanni, established her fame as a novelist. Music and psycho-analysis, as well as family tragedy, are the major themes of her work.
