Named in honor of Konstantin Petrovich Lyanzuridi (1934– ), engineer in vacuum technology and optics who has worked at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory {see planet  (1725)} for more than 30 years. A talented experimenter, he created a new method of ion etching of optical surfaces for making precision astronomical optics for ground-based and space telescopes. (M 34341) _ _.
