At his private observatory in Camarillo, John Rogers secured follow-up observations of this minor planet. On California’s El Camino Real, the town was named by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1901 in tribute to Adolfo Camarillo (1864–1958), a prominent local rancher. The first discoverer is a former town resident. (M 43189) _ _.
