His main research as a mathematical physicist ranges from the theory of Lie groups and harmonic analysis to a discussion of the equations of motion of extended bodies in the framework of Einstein's gravitation theory. For 30 years, Beiglböck has served as scientific advisor to Springer-Verlag in Heidelberg. He is the founder and co-editor of the well-known series “Lecture Notes in Physics” and “Texts and Monographs in Physics”. His persistent support made it possible to realize the publication of the Dictionary of Minor Planet Names. Name proposed and citation prepared by the first discoverer.
