Named for Michael Hart Endres, who as former site manager of the GEODSS project played a seminal role in the early discussions, meetings and concepts that ultimately resulted in the establishment of the Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking (NEAT) program in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force using the Ground-Based Electro Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) 1-m telescope. “Mike” for forty years thrived in a wide-ranging career from design, installation, operation of technical equipment and management of personnel associated with technical services at various companies.
