Named for the site of the most important ancient Celtic town in Bohemia. Situated south of Prague on a hill above Vltava river {see planets
(2367) and
(2123), respectively}, it consists of two parts named Hradiště and Šance. It was founded in the sixth century B.C. and was destroyed five centuries later. The ramparts, stone walls, moats and an acropolis are the most impressive remnants showing the Celtic history of the discoverer’s native country found up to this time. (M 34625) _ _.
