Frank Kyte (b. 1949) studies the meteoritic component of distal impact deposits. He discovered the only known deep-ocean impact---the late Pliocene impact of the km-sized Eltanin object into the sub-Antarctic Pacific. He has also found meteorites in deep-sea sediments from the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary.
