Named in memory of Rentaro Taki (1879-1903), gifted Japanese composer. After he finished his schooling in Japan he went to Germany and trained at the Music Academy in Leipzig. Not long afterward, however, he developed tuberculosis and returned to Japan to die. His songs, which include “The Moon over the Ruins of a Castle”, are among the best loved in Japan. < 1 observations>
