The Kaiserstuhl (570 m) is an old volcanic mountain range between the Schwarzwald and the Rhine river. It has one of the mildest climates in Germany. Since Roman times the slopes of the mountains have been covered with vineyards, producing the well-known wine “Kaiserstühler”.
