Named in memory of Belá Szentmártoni (1931–1988), outstanding Hungarian amateur astronomer. He founded the Albireo Amateur Astronomical Society and its magazine ‘Albireo’ in 1971 and through his articles and translations helped promote amateur astronomy in Hungary. Belá was an all-rounder, although he specialized in deep-sky and double star observing, as well as variable stars. He was also a mirror maker. (M 23792) _ _.
