Libra Horoscope December 2022
Communication is a key theme this month because of the dominance of planets in Sagittarius and your communication sector. This includes both the written and spoken word. Talk planet Mercury is here until the 6th, your ruler Venus until the 10th and the Sun is here until the 21st.
Sagittarius rules siblings and neighbours in your horoscope and it’s a good month to explore your neighbourhood and make new connections. If you’re a typical Libra, you’ll have a wide social circle and this month’s astrology suggests that the run-up to the festive season could be busy.
Gemini Full Moon
The major astrology in the first half of the month is a powerful Full Moon cutting across the Gemini/Sagittarius axis of the zodiac. This is the axis of education and learning, travel and new experiences in your horoscope. It’s a time to be expansive in your thinking and to share your ideas widely.
This Full Moon has an edge, however, because of the prominence of Mars. Mars is currently retrograde in Gemini and your travel and study sector. On the 1st, Mars opposes your ruler Venus in Sagittarius. And, on the 8th, the day of the Full Moon, Mars opposes the Sun in Sagittarius and sits in a tight conjunction with the Moon.
This could spell competition or opposition. You may find that some people are vehemently opposed to your ideas or way of thinking. You might be speaking up more than usual but don’t expect everyone to be in agreement. Plans could change quickly during this phase and you may need to think on your feet if you’re travelling widely before the festive season.
The planet Neptune is also prominent – key dates are the 4th and 14th. You may be emotionally invested in your work. Or, perhaps you’re unclear or confused about what you’re doing and why. Go with the flow but at the same time, don’t believe everything you hear and fine-tune your trust antennae.
Capricorn – Home & Family
Where things may feel more grounded is at home or within your family. This is because of the emphasis on the star sign Capricorn. Talk planet Mercury is the first to enter Capricorn on the 6th, followed by your ruling planet Venus on the 10th.
When planets are in Capricorn, this can indicate a desire to be more settled. Capricorn rules your home and family, your past and where you come from, turning the focus towards your roots and your foundations. Aim for slow and steady progress rather than expect things to happen quickly.
The Sun joins the inner planets in Capricorn on the 21st, the day of the Solstice. And, two days later, there’s a New Moon here on the 23rd, a symbol of new beginnings. You may have a lot to talk about or organise with family on the run up to the festive period but it’s worth it when things work out well.
There could be a financial incentive for working alongside family. Or, perhaps you receive an unexpected gift or bonus on the 17th or 22nd. This is when the planet of surprises Uranus in your joint finance sector aligns with Mercury & Venus in Capricorn.
Jupiter Joy
Jupiter’s change of star sign is one of the biggest events this month. The planet of opportunity returns to your opposite star sign Aries on the 20th. Aries is your relationship sector, both personal and professional. Jupiter’s already been here from May 10th to October 28th.
This time around, Jupiter remains in Aries until May 16, 2023, a wonderful period to get love right and do what it takes to bring happiness your way.
This spells good news for a business partnership or a one-to-one collaboration. It’s love, however, that feels special and you could be planning a wedding or second honeymoon.
Jupiter rules liberation and freedom. Sometimes, this presents you with an opportunity to move away from a relationship or partnership that’s not working out.
Notice what happens on the 20th when Jupiter changes star sign. Also, on the 29th, when there’s a lucky Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Aries. This lovely pairing will be visible in the night sky, a great time to make a wish.
Jupiter’s influence often coincides with lucky opportunities or a blessing that comes your way. Know that Jupiter is about giving as well as receiving. Reach out to other people and do your bit to help.
Mercury Retrograde
Also at the end of the month, communication planet Mercury turns retrograde on the 29th. Mercury will remain in retreat until January 18, 2023.
When Mercury’s on go slow, it’s important to pace yourself and be patient. Mercury turns retrograde in Capricorn, the star sign representing home & family in your horoscope. There may be a theme of going back to the past or the past returning to you.
One of the best ways to use the Mercury retrograde phase is to take a step back and look at life differently. It’s a positive time to reconnect with people, especially loved ones. You may be busy with your family tree or trying to find someone you lost touch with. Perhaps, there’s a post-Christmas family reunion or a chance to heal a rift.
There may be another reason why home or family are significant, linked to your work or health. You may be considering ways to work more from home. Or, perhaps you’re stepping in to help out a family member in their search for work or if they’re dealing with a health issue.
Mercury aligns with Neptune as it switches direction and these two planets are prominent on December 25th, Christmas Day. In fact, they’re connected as one year ends and a new year begins. Their theme is forgiveness and compassion, also taking life easy and revelling in nature. You may be more than ready to relax and slow down.
