Rafael Ferrando (b. 1966) founded Pla D'Arguines Observatory in Segorbe, Valencia, in 1996. A very active observer of small solar-system bodies, he has more than 300 new minor planet designations. He also discovered the breakup of comet C/2003 S4, several Jupiter Trojans and two near-earth objects, 2002 EA and 2007 TK8.
